I am willing to help you out with your game, maybe even for free if time permits! While I do prefer to work exclusively with Game Maker for game projects, I do have a long and varied set of skills with regards to programming!
My Qualifications
I am a college graduate and have an Associate of Science in Computer Science, Associate of Occupational Science in Computer Programming, and Bachelor of Occupational Science in Application Development. I have also received certifications for programming from Microsoft (the 98-361 MTA) and Siemens.
I am a programmer by trade with a wide range of work experience including:
- Batch / Scripting on Windows and Unix systems using command line tools
- Database creation and maintenance utilizing Oracle SQL, MySQL and Microsoft T-SQL
- Application development utilizing Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML and Visual Basic
- Professional experience in game development, PLC programming (utilities), web development and computer hardware
- Extensive understanding of Game Maker and previous versions of Game Maker Studio 2 (I have been using this program from well before the YoYo Games and Opera GX years, back when Mark Overmars was the lead developer and the program was written in Delphi!)
I also have lots of experience with multimedia, including art, video editing, music composition and mixing / mastering.
Video Game Portfolio
You can see my most recent video game projects in this site’s Games section. Most are multi-platform and have downloads for at least Windows and Android, and a version that is playable directly in your browser! However, I have more projects that can be dug up if requested, as I have been programming since the late 2000’s.
Rates
The rate you will be charged will be highly dependent on exactly what type of work you want me to do, but some factors will include:
- The scope of the project — do you want help getting something working, or are you looking for a programmer to build your entire game for you?
- The time I estimate it will take to do what you need — helping you get a script written will take considerably less time than writing an entire system, like a camera system
- Credit — will I receive credit for my contributions? Receiving credit is no substitute for payment, but getting my name out there does count for something, and will probably result in a steep discount
- Do I have time? — if I have large amounts of time on my hands, and your request doesn’t require too much of it, I may do it for free. If I’m running short on time, I’m going to price my game development skills a lot more aggressively.
As a general rule, I would say that if you’re asking for something I can troubleshoot or get working within a half hour, I’ll probably do it for free if I have the time to do so. If you’re asking for something more intensive, my rate will probably be around $15 per hour.
Contact Me
If you’d prefer not to fill out the above form, you can contact me directly with inquiries via my email: salvemundiproductions@gmail.com. If you email me, I request you put something about “Game Development Inquiry” in the header. You can also join my discord and contact me there to inquire.
One last quick note: my programming services are limited specifically to game development at the moment, and preferably Game Maker, C++, C# or Java. I have signed a non-compete with my company and so will therefore respectfully refuse other types of programming jobs.
