I’ve been video editing since the early days of YouTube in the late 2000’s, and maybe I can do some editing for you! I’ve become pretty good at video editing over the years, and also know how to set up livestreams for Twitch and YouTube. I’ve also got quite a bit of experience with multiple video editing softwares, including YouTube Studio, Sony Vegas, CyberLink PowerDirector and DaVinci Studio.

Another video project that took a lot of time to write, film and edit was the trailer for my Minecraft Modpack, which you can view on the site, or see above.

In particular, I am very skilled at adding style to videos with calls to action, and video start and end cards that add flavor and a feeling of consistency without being too overbearing. I am also very skilled with fast-paced comedic timing as that’s the majority of what I’ve edited over the years for various small YouTubers and Twitch streamers. I have a very good sense of flow and a generally good idea of what feels “rushed,” “slow” and “just right” based on what you are aiming to achieve.

Rates

The rate you will be charged will be highly dependent on exactly what type of work you want me to do, but some factors will include:

• The scope of the project — do you want me to edit a quick video, or are you needing a reliable video editor for multiple video jobs?
  
  
• The time I estimate it will take to do what you need — video editing in particular can be a very slow process. Fifteen minutes of video can take anywhere between a couple of hours to several weeks to edit depending on the amount of cuts, effects, audio layers and mixing, etc.
  
  
• Credit — will I receive credit for my contributions? Receiving credit is no substitute for payment, but getting my name out there does count for something, and will probably result in a steep discount
  
  
• Do I have time? — if I have large amounts of time on my hands, and your request doesn’t require too much of it, I’ll probably do it for less. If I’m running short on time, I’m going to price my video editing skills a lot more aggressively.
  
  

As a general rule, I would say that my rate will probably be around $20 per hour, and unless you’re needing almost no editing — such as in the case of a video blog — I’d estimate that simple video projects will require about 3-5 hours of editing for every 15 minutes of video, although this could be significantly higher if the edit requires a lot of effects, cuts, layers, animations, etc. It’s very hard to give a rough estimate and your best bet is to just contact me to get a better idea.
